With the attitude shown by the staff at the Crown (that Stephen was telling about), I would have left the place at once instead of improving their income by eating there. The taxi was still there, wasn't it? As a paying customer I don't have to put up with bad service or bad attitude from restaurant staff, or from any staff in the hospitality business for that matter, be in Bali or elsewhere.
In fact, it would be very good, should the owner read Stephen's letter, so that she can improve the attitude of the staff. Why should we travellers accept just anything when it comes to service or to food only because it is "Bali"? This forum must provide both positive and negative aspects of travels to Bali, rather than telling people they are "mean" should they dare to criticise.
By the way, I don't think Stephen ever mentioned how big the note was which he wanted to have change to for the taxi. At least I did not see any denomination mentioned!
