We also live in the US and visit Bali yearly if not more. I would not recommend depending on the postal system in Bali for anything-very unreliable. As for phone calls, can't help you there as we use e-mail to keep in touch with everyone. Internet cafes are all over and very inexpensive. Hopefully someone else will be able to field your phone inquiry.
