Bugs & Musquito Nets...just how bad

If a hotel or villa mentions that it has musquito nets over the bed, just how many bugs will be in the room?? My future wife freaks out over bugs....
Another place we are thinking about has what looks to be an indoor/outdoor bathroom and shower....more to worry about??
