thro the desk at our hotel - I think it was Bali rafting. We paid about 200,000rups for adults and slightly less for kids. They picked us up at our hotel in Legian at 8am and drove us to Lake Batur for breakfast which was fruit, banana fritters - not too substantial, and if we knew this we would have had something before we left. Then we were driven to the starting point. You selected your own bike - there we 10 of us altogether and maybe 14 bikes to choose from. They provided the helmets. Our youngest is 7yo boy and he coped well but the 8yo girl had problems braking all the time with her left hand. She said it ached the whole time. I rode the whole ride and thoroughly enjoyed it. My husband is a cyclist and he and my 14yo thought it was pretty easy. We rode pretty fast for the first 3ks and then it was more gently thru villages etc. A little traffic on the roads but I felt safe the whole time. Our guide was Made and he pointed out the coffee, tabacco and cocoa trees along the way. We went to a traditional farming lot and saw their kitchen etc., stopped at a temple and then at an outlook to see the rice paddies. There is a truck and van following so if you need to get off the bike you can ride in the van and the bike goes on the truck. All in all good fun. Lunch was provided at the end. You can nearly write off the whole day altho they said half day.
