I was wary as our daughter kept walking up to the cages & there were only small shrubs between her & the cage & then the animals...
A black monkey with really long arms kept reaching out to her & she kept wanting to touch it, but I was worried it may grab her & drag her closer & bite.
It was strange as the Melb zoo you can hardly see the Gorilla's for plants...
I agree the Lions & Tigers on concrete looked a bit sad...
We ate there too & the food was not too expensive but that's about 14 months ago & at the time we were the only ones there!
