Had some time at the end of the holiday so decided to go to the Bali Zoo Park and see the waterfall at Sukawati at the same time.

30 min drive (or thereabouts) from Kuta.
Good parking area and entry was 150000rp for 2.(US $8.50)

Photos can be taken for free just after paying with a lady in traditional Balinese costume.
By the time you have wandered through and ready to leave the photo has been added to a large keyring & Bali plate on a stand if you wish to purchase them (10000rp for keyring & 50000rp for the plate)

Good access through the zoo with ramps for wheelchairs/prams in the middle of any steps and wide paths which meander past the cages & 'walk - through' aviary sections.

Animals seem well looked after but the lion & tiger cage was small, concrete & not the best.
Sad also to see the orangutan alone, without others to relate to/have company with.

Cages are fairly open to the public (small hands can fit into the cages & animals paws etc can reach out) so children would have to be made aware and watched.
Able to get up close & face to face with tigers, lions and other animals too.

Watched the lions being fed while we were there...bucket full of raw chicken pieces.
The lions stood back as the guy entered to place the food on the raised platform.
They did not move in until he had left.

There is a section about halfway round where you can have hands on experience with lizards, snakes & birds and take photos if you wish.

The restaurant is located at the end of the meandering path after you have seen the Zoo.
Large restaurant, friendly efficient service & clean toilets.

Enjoyed the Zoo Park but if strapped for time would not make a special effort to get there.
Was interesting & enjoyable for us but perhaps not worth it if you don't like Zoos or seeing animals in cages.

Pics at link below with website etc.
