I just upgraded with my orange phone (I am fortunate enough to have access through an old plan where I have a local and a mobile number) Not being very technically minded I asked the guy in the shop will it work in Bali and he said if I send and recieve SMS messages it will only cost 25cents per message but not to tell anyone. So what am I doing telling you this. Now I have to learn how to do SMS.
