Have flown with Garuda Indonesia Airlines
many times nothing wrong with them they have the youngest fleet of Airbuses flying to Bali,& No there is no Smoking on board there flights,dont know what horror stories you have heard but we havent had any problems with them at all,and most of my friends fly with them & I have never heard any horror stories about them we fly out of Brisbane.So go have a great trip & dont worry they are very SAFE.havent got any info on your near by shops sorry.Luggage idea sounds fine that is what we did in June when we went,only took hand luggage bought Bali bags over there great idea.ENJOY YOUR TRIP.
