We are just back from Bali and were at Gili Trawangan about a week ago. The so cald partysceen on Trawangan is not that much party. One or two bars arrange a party every night, and unless you live near one of these, there will be no trouble with noise. Let me tell you one thing. You do not want AC. A fan is much better. We are norwegians wich means that we are used to the same climate as you are, and a fan ceeps you cool. AC is the way to get a cold, when you can expect to almost freeze at night, and then be wery hot in the daytime. I know what I talk about from earlier experiences. A fan is also better when it comes to running the mosqitos off.
We stayed at Kreatif Bungalows. They are a little bit expensive(100.000rp/n), but they were quite OK. The snorkeling that is awailable from the shore is more or less ruined, so you should hire a boat for a snorkeling trip. They take you to the good places. I also had a dive with Blue Marlin Dive, and found them wery good. They also have accomodation and a restaurant, and it might be worth checking out. If you have other questions feel free to e-mail me privatly.
