Thanks! We've done the Hawaii bit and you're right, it isn't that expensive. Bali certainly sounds like a country of contrasts as it sounds like your costs can be dirt cheap if you so chose. On top of it all, we're Canadian, so add another 50% to our costs! We may have a car while we're there so may have some flexibility to eat outside hotel. Is that too inconvenient? The Ritz just sounds too good to pass up - looked at the Intercon and Oberoi (Four Seasons is out of our range) as well. I managed to get breakfast included in our room rate of $132 US which is really pretty good.
