It is advisable for men to wear dress shirts and long pants at the airport or when visiting any government office. You say you've got the temple dress routine..o.k. in tourist areas such as Ubud and Kuta, shorts and casual wear are fine for restaurants, shopping, etc. Ubud can get a bit chilly at night. so it would be advisable to have a pair of long pants and perhaps a sweater. Batur or any mountain area is going to be cool, if not down right chilly. Even at the equator, once you get above 1000 meters above sea level...it gets cold!
