No certificate needed. Yes, you need to stay with the guide. In fact it is recommended to go with a dive company that can give you one to one supervision. There is a company that provides free demonstrations at the Intan Bali Village Hotel on wed & SAT at 1pm. They offer one to one and are western owners. I suppose there are many highly recommended dive shops, you will know from this forum and other sources. On these dives you basically breath, the guide providing assistance when required. It will be a whole day event and depending on the location the travel time can be a large part of the trip. You should confirm the actual dive time and if there are one or two dives. In theory you are suppose to be restricted to, I believe, ten (15?) Meters. An expert will know this. In fact I am surprised that dive shops did not reply to your post. Maybe you need to repost and put "dive info" into the subject line. They are always interested in business and will provide lots of info. I think I have said all that I need. I think depending on where you have snorkeled you would be happy or disappointed. It is fine for some and lacking for others. As far as hotels I have no info, but this form has. I think a good option would be to email the customer relations staff and get into a dialogue with them. From what my Balinese friends have told me tourism is down so I think the staff can fit you into the hotel... I don't know for sure but it is a try. Balinese as many other people enjoy talking with foreigners and the staff may enjoy the talk and make an extra effort. Have a happy holiday. If you would like some info on some excellent artist that can provide you with some nice art for you to remember your honeymoon I can give you a contact. They will help you even if you are not buying from them. We have purchased from him, his friends and family and have always been more than satisfied so I have no problem to recommend him. His family (of artist) live in the village behind ubud, so if you want you can visit their home or studio by foot or taxi. Yes maybe this is somewhat of a sales pitch, but I would not bother if it were not something that I felt worthy. And since you are on your honeymoon you may want a good memory.
