Your Premise: You don't know where the best beaches are.
Your Conclusion: Unless someone advises you, you will be stuck at the resort.
My Suggestion: EXPLORE. Do it yourself. During your explorations you will not only acquire the information you were seeking but 10 times more info that hadn't even occurred to you. And it is infinitely more rewarding to learn it this way.
For example, imagine you know where the great beaches are. How would you get there? Hire a driver? Drive yourself? Fine, you don't know where they are but just do everything the same except instead of Telling the driver exactly where to go, tell him: "I would like to visit as much of the coast as possible, and I would like to spend 2 hours at a beautiful, secluded beach where I can go swimming." Or if you drive yourself, just go driving and looking. Take a map and follow along. Make notes of where the best places are. Next day try again but ask to see a different area, or return to one of your favorites from the day before. Increase your knowledge, expand your horizons, don't be afraid to "waste" a day. Slow down and get a drink in a tiny rural village. Relax, talk, develop rapport, ask questions of your new friends, play with their children. And so on.......
