You asked about condition of the hotel. It is about ten years old, I believe. My husband and I are pretty fussy about where we stay, and were astonished at this place, it went way beyind our expectations, especially for Bali. It is immaculately maintained - even the fallen frangipani blossoms are swept up every morning! - and the rooms and public areas are immaculate and very beautiful. There are lovely Balinese touches everywhere and the staff is very warm and accomadating. (No I don't work for the hotel!!!! We're Winnipegers who celebrated our anniversary at a dream location!) We had a pool view room, which was large and comfy (the hotel has a web page somewhere with photos of the rooms). The bedroom area is partially seperated from the living room by a teak screen with shutters. THere was a sofa, upholstered chairs, desk, a large picture window, and a glass door with teak shutters opening onto a beautiful tiled balcony. The balconies are planted with boxes of bougainvillea. The marble bathroom had both tub and shower (spotless), good lighting, terry robes and slippers provided, and there is a teak louvered door to the toilet "room" (with another phone.) The flooring in the bedroom and sitting areas is all teak, so very clean. Lots of bottled water provided gratis every day. Orchids on the bed at turn-down. All furnishings, doors, wardrobe, were teak, in perfect condition. There is a very large maintenance staff. Room service was lovely. The garden view rooms would be nice, too (they were slightly cheaper.) But the view to the pool and the palms, bridges and streams was great and we will probably take the same type of room again next time. The beach also was immaculate and the deck chairs upholstered and very comfy. There is dappled shade on the beach, and a coral reef a few hundred feet out keepd the beach calm - no big waves, so it is good for children. There are no hawkers, it is safe to walk the Nusa Dua area any time of day and night, and the boardwalk is very romantic (it links the Nusa Dua hotels. Also, as it is against the law to build taller than a palm tree, the resorts sit low and nestled in the foliage, quite unlike Hawaii or any other island we've been to.
Sorry! Got carried away reminiscing!!!! More questions???!!!!
