Hi - am considering travelling to Bali in September 2000 with my husband. We want to stay at the Santika Beach Hotel. Can anyone give us more idea about the place? I've heard the beach isn't always a beach except in low tide, is this all year round?

We are in our late 20s, do many people our age stay there?

Also, I am a diabetic on insulin and have to eat 6 small meals a day (breakfast-usually cereal, morning tea-small sandwich or carbohydrate snack, lunch-sandwich/bread and fruit or a meal of rice/noodles, afternoon tea (same as morning tea), dinner-meat with rice/noodles/bread/salad, supper-milk/cheese/cracker).

- how difficult would it be, or not, to stick to my usual diet? I have travelled to Queensland and Japan before and usally I eat too much so my blood sugar goes a bit high. I just need to know that food is readily available in case it goes very low. Can you buy soft drinks like Coke or Lemonade? Do they have Diet Coke????

In Japan, Diet Coke was a bit hard to come by, especially in bars.

If anyone has any info/experience re Santika or diabetes, please let me know.

Kim
