Hi, thank you for the compliments, the photo site and trip report I can take credit for but I am only one of several Sues' who post regularly on the Forum.
Weather in late September was hot and humid as you would expect with, at least last year, some rain, torrential at times but quite refreshing and as it only rained when we were having relaxing days in and around Ubud and not when we were out touring the island it did not bother us at all. We considered it a rehersal for the coming rainy season.
Sukawati is a town between Celuk (silver) and Mas (woodcarving) I have to assume the market is in the town. I am not a shopper so perhaps some of the other Sues' can advise.
You should be able do a great deal with $100US per day between you. Some days you will probably spend very litte and others for example if you have a driver guide then you will spend more. Of course If you want to buy furniture and large items to ship home, then you could spend a lot more.
Don't know about duty, I really do not shop on vacation. I said that at work the other day and a client asked me to marry him!
Thanks again, I hope the other Sues' take a peek at the posting and claim their share of the praise. Have a wonderful trip, I wish I was going back this year but China calls in 2000 and that is going to be sooooo expensive on our Canadian $. Perhaps I will get back in 2001.
