We are off to Bali for 8 days arriving on the 20th June. We booked our accommodation before finding the forum and have 4 days in each of Sanur and Legian. From what I am reading on the forum it sounds like the Ubud area may have suited us better.
Getting a driver to take us into the inland areas sounds like a good idea. Could anyone suggest a few good combinations of places to ask the driver to take us on day trips outside the southern beaches. We have no idea of the driving time involved - would it be practical to get to Mt Batur or the northern beaches? Is a driver a better alternative than an organised tour?
