Which one is best? I think the Rough Guide but the last copy I saw was a few years old so its perhaps too out-of-date now - but if there is a new edition I think its generally better than LP (except for the maps - LP maps which are absolutely the best). The Moon guide has some interesting cultural stuff but the most recent edition is very sloppily edited and its maps are hopelessly unreliable so there's no advantage in buying the new one - just look around for a second hand copy of the old one.
Buying in Bali is often more expensive than in Australia (but not sure where in the world you are?)and it takes longer for the most recent editions to arrive.
