Gili Air hotel is on the far side of the island and the cidomos will charge you 5000 rp because its the pricest on the island at a bout 25$ per night. We stayed at the Hotel Gili Indah, the next best place, where the superior rooms have INCREDIBLE views and are attached to reefseekers, a very good dive outfit with nice equipment which I recommend highly. Did not visit trawangan, but the diving off trawangan FANTASTIC, Its a very short boat trip from G Air. I've never seen anything to match the diving there, and Ive dived all over the med and micronesia.
By the way, the diamond(first class) class tickets on Mabua Express are a big fat rip off. Its nearly identical to the emerald class, but is 10 USD more. In fact the mabua is in general a bad value. you can fly to lombok for the same as mabua costs.
