Concerning the Melia,as you have read the hotel is of the best standards available in nusa,and the costs for food and drinks reflect that.
I was there in Jan and had a pleasant stay.The hotel and staff could not have been better,BUT,if you make the mistake of thinking it would be say reasonably more expensive for beer,food,then you made it.
heres some e.g. : Full Breakfast 20US$ + charges
equivelent of around 32AU$
Although it was exy there are many restaurants that you can get a taxi to,and around the corner walking distance theres the Galleria shopping area where there are also restaurants.
Try La luchiolla in legian beach for a night ,i dont think you will be dissapointed.
