say to the shop keeper after bargaining, " Well, I can get it cheaper down the road!" and flounce out, I've seen this happen it is the only thing that I have seen makes even the Balinese swear, it just isn't playing the game, and bargaining is a game which all can enjoy if they play by the rules. And perhaps you shouldn't call shop keepers Hawkers, unless perhaps they are simply stall holders. Bargaining takes place in all places, but you wouldn't call a western shop keeper a Hawker, or .... well maybe but only out of earshot!
