Victor Mason no longer owns the Beggars Bush. I know Victor somewhat, as he a member of the Hash House Harriers...who also used to meet at Beggars Bush, but now meet at Naughty Nuris...across from the Neka Museum. Victor has lived on Bali for about 30 years now and is the acknowledged expert on the Birds of Bali, having published at least one and maybe another book on this subject. You can usually find Victor hanging out at Naughty Nuris in the late afternoon, especially on Thursdays. When I last spoke with him...two weeks ago, I couldn't get a decisive answer out of him regarding the bird walks. Another expat friend of his told me that he will still do it, if he finds the group that wants to go interesting enough. If you know Victor, you will know exactly what I mean.
