I tried to upgrade to a private villa at Melia Bali Sol and they just e-mailed and said that the 10 villas were booked for the end of June - beginning of July (the time we are going) - so I guess there aren't many "tourists" canceling because of the elections. At the time of the bombing in Egypt - last year - the people who did not cancel their trips - said the security was unbelievably good at all the main attractions. "SO" - maybe this is the best time to visit Bali??? Hope so. Everyone - good luck.
