I have been reading the forum and get the impression that you get better hotel prices once you are there and at the hotel. Can you do this for the better hotels as well? I was thinking of booking a few nights at either the Ritz or Inter-continental before I go and then try and negotiate for a better price for extra days once there.
Is this a good idea - I am going in Sept, is this too busy to risk the hotels not having availabilty?
