I thought my report was clear in that I was describing the tradition of oga ogas as being forbidden, not the holiday of Nyepi itself. The official "government" reason for these creations being banned may indeed be the fear of violence, but as any Balinese will tell you, it was really to avoid any embarrassment to government officials who may have been represented by oga oga figures.
