Is it true that a child receives a 'magic' name from a priest, that is a secret name that no-one hears?
From what I learnt this name is even forgotten before long by the priest, but the child is also given a name by the parents, a name that has an influence over their life, good or bad. And should the child become ill often, the name being blamed is replaced by another one chosen by a priest or 'white-magic' doctor. This personal name is private property and is considered patronising to call a person by his name after they have grown up. Quite fascinating isn't it.
