I have travelled with Singapore airlines many times and most receintly last month to Sri lanka and Bangladesh from Australia..
I had one of their new planes and was impressed that they bothered to supply individual screens even in economy class. The screens have a choice of 30 in flight channels and also have several nintendo games available to call up on the screen and play. The hand control ( like a remote but attached to the seat via a cable ) had a telephone on the reverse side...yip a phone that you could call either other pasanger seats on...OR ring home...but at 65c US per 6 seconds it works out to be around $10 Australian a MINUTE.
The service was excellant. We hit some turbulance while I was being served coffee and some spilt onto my shirt....They cleaned it straight away and even offered for it to be dry cleaned and forwarded onto me at my destination...NOT BAD.
