We arrived back from Bali Via Singapore on March 15. We had an incredibly unforgettable time in Bali. We checked in at Changi Airport in Singapore for our return flight to Vancouver. As we arrived at the Singapore Airlines check-in counter,the ticket representitive told us the flight had been overbooked. He asked my husband and I and 6 others if we would mind being re-routed through Hong Kong rather than Soeul on the return flight. We had never been to Hong Kong so we jumped at the opportunity.
When we arrived at the Hong Kong Airport a rep. from Singapore Airlines met us and took us to the Singapore Airlines VIP lounge where we were wined and dined until we caught our flight to Vancouver. In addition each of the eight of us was paid S$500.00 for our"inconvenience"!!!
The service was outstanding, the female flight attendants wear beautiful batik costumes and the quality of the food was well above the standard airline fare.
