In Bali the typical way of building a septic tank is by keeping one of the "compartments" open. All liquids will therefore sink into the ground. The dead chicken, also known here in Holland, is not necessary in Bali due to the high temp (decay will start before the sh*t hits the tank). Always when making a "sumber Bor"(well) check the location of yr neighbours ST's. No need to mention the liquids ARE dirty and polluting.

The solar heaters are widely available, if u own a house on Bali u should know where to get it! price for a 80 liter boiler approx 17 JT if I recall correctly.
