Having witnessed some shocking acts in Kuta, I can (as an unoffended Aussie male) recommend;
a) Avoid Football Trips (Oct/Nov)
b) Avoid Kuta regardless
c) Try Ubud or Lombok (Sengeggi Beach area)
d) Even better, go the Gili's
In these places you will meet Australians (Male and Female), however they will be very different from the yobbos (an Australian term for drunken idiot) that can be found in Kuta.
