Hi Jules,
I'm a 'down-under' girl and when I come to Bali I certainly don't want to associate with fellow Aussies. I know the type you mean and it's ok coz' they don't venture out from Kuta/Legian area. So for you that's easy, coz' the rest of Bali is really Bali - all they see is the pubs, clubs, shops, etc.

Mind you there are some great Aussie people too, they are the ones out there off their bums, no drink in hand or babe under arm - they're discovering Bali as a cultural experience.

I've spoken about this subject before on the forum and again I'll say, it makes me sick to see these drunken' yobbo's (especially the footy teams) single-file walking down Jalan Legian singing "Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oiy! Oiy! Oiy!". They behave similar back home too - don't know why they leave town actually! They'll only rave when they get back how great the trip was - they can say this with conviction coz' they can't even remember the trip! That's how they rate their enjoyment. If you can remember, can't have been so good!

It surprises me to hear they lay-on the sad stories - these guys wouldn't normally admit they are any less than a REAL MAN - and a REAL MAN DOESN'T HAVE EMOTIONS!!

Understand where you're coming from,
Jenni.
