Good restaurants etc. near Le Meridien?

will be staying at Le Meridien. While pleased that hotel is included in inexpensive package, do not want budget eaten up by the cost of food and other services at the hotel. Any recommendations about goodrestaurants, messages, tours tc from others who stayed at the hotel or are familiar with the area.
