Just keep an eye out for small temporary no entry signs that can appear during busy times in the South (watch the locals as to what they do). Don't stop at an intersection (lights) with any of your car over the line.
If you drive in rural Bali outside the Ubud / South area, driving is an absolute pleasure - believe me.
