Caroline,

No, my husband & I were both fine and had no reactions at all, apart from one quite sore arm for about 24 hours afterwards - I think it was the Hep A one that hurt for a while afterwards - we had typhoid in one arm & Hep A in the other. We both had the polio booster too - it is a truly disgusting tasting liquid in a spray bottle that they spray in your mouth. Because it is normally given to children, the nurse had a supply of chocolate buttons to take the taste away!

By the way, although you don't need malaria pills, it is a good idea to take quite strong insect repellent (stuff that contains DEET is much more effective than the more friendly stuff) if you are prone to being bitten. I usually get bitten alive on holiday, but the nurse frightened me so much that I applied repellent really carefully this time and didn't get bitten once. The nurse was worried mainly about something called Dengue Fever which is carried by mosquitos and for which there is no vaccination and no certain cure apparantly. I don't know how dangerous it is or how serious the risk is, but at least prevention saves two weeks of frantic itching & scratching!

Hope you have a really good time!
Liz
