I wouldn't advise it after seeing the numbers of motorbikes on the streets which are very narrow, full of potholes and often roaming with dogs. The safety awareness is virtually zero, and you really do take your life into your hands. We saw a number of brochures advising tourists to be carefull on motorbikes as many serious accidents happened to them. Instead rent a car with driver for 50,000 rupiah per day or catch taxis, they are cheap.
