There is a website www.mailstart.com that allows you to remotely access your regular email. In Bali just go to an internet shop, go to mailstart.com use your regular isp logon and password and you're in business. The internet shops I went to also allowed people to receive emails directly at the shop. They would post your name on a message board if you had any emails. Kind of like a post office.
