Now that it seems pretty much all flights are non smoking I'd like to know some people's personal coping strategies for long flights. I'm a smoker, although I'm past the point of enjoying it any more. I can deal with not being able to smoke for a couple of hours max, but this 19 hour flight is going to see me running amuck on the plane(that'll be me you see, the raving loon taking hostages just to try and get one puff). I'm really worried about this, the addiction is not controlable at this point. I can't use nicotine gum, makes me very ill. I can't use nicotine patches, they make my heart frap out severely with chest pains sometimes. I can't take the new anti-depressant they're prescribing for quitting smoking, makes me really nutty. I'm seriously thinking about getting a generous supply of valium for the trip and completely knocking myself out. Anybody have any better ideas? Has anybody tried hypnotism or NLP?? I need some serious help here.
