I find it truely sad that I'm going to Bali and of all things I'm worried about being able to run my stinkin hair dryer......

I still can't figger out what kit I should buy for appliances. There are several 'all-in-one' kits complete with uhhhhh.........booster?.......that I believe will make it possible to run anything up to 1600 watts(god am I clued out on this stuff). But if I take the salesdude's recommendations, I'll wind up spending damn near $100 bucks. According to him, I'll need 2 different adapters with built in ahh...boosters??......if I want to run both an electric shaver and a hairdryer that is 1200 watts. Is this guy full of crap? Has anybody got any recommendations on what exactly I should take?? A price range I should shoot for? All in all, I'd like to be able to run the above mentioned as well as a travel iron or clothing steamer.
