The rates for traveller's cheques are not good. Take cash,
preferably new $100 bills, don't change money at hotels or
airports. ATMs work, but you get dinged $3 per transaction
(in Canada, anyway) and the rates weren't as good as the
money changers. Using money changers, make sure of the
rate before you hand over your money, count the money they
give you, and make sure you are the last to handle it.
Most money changers are honest, but some are not.
