There's a taxi centre at the airport with rates posted on a board and this is a good pricing gauge when considering how much a fare should cost. Denpasar airport is actually in Tuban, 5 minutes south of Kuta. Denpasar the capital is about 15-20klms north of Kuta and takes about 40 minutes or so by car. From the airport it's around Rp13,000 to central Kuta, airport to Legian (5 minutes north of Kuta)is Rp16,500. Airport to Ubud is Rp60,000.
Of course once your there you may wish (once out of krazy Kuta)to travel chartering a motorbike and driver, hiring your own pushbike, catching the local bemo buses or using the shuttle buses. Bemo buses are really cheap (around Rp1,000 for a 5-10klm journey) and shuttle buses are also a cheap option, costing around Rp10,000 from Ubud to Kuta. Happy travelling!
