I'm a Singaporean who saves most of her shopping money for Bali and the US (have been to both in the last month and a half). I really would save my time for more fun stuff and not spend the time in Singapore shopping for a bargain.
If you're thinking about shopping for electronics/cameras here, you should come with a list of specific items you're looking for as well as an idea of how much it should cost. Mustafa's IS a great place -- the selection is fabulous. Skip Lucky Plaza, Orchard Towers and places like that unless you like haggling and not being sure whether you ended up getting the best deal.
Holland Village (not Square) is quite good as well for Asian arty stuff, but bear in mind that a lot of what you will see there you will have seen already in Bali for MUCH cheaper. If you are wanting to buy dress/business clothes, there are two manufacturer's outlets in Holland Village - The Export Shop and Factory Outlet. In women's clothes, you can get things made in Singapore for Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, INC, for an average of US$15 a piece In men's clothes, you can get dress shirts for about about US$10.
For touristy things to do:
Night Safari -- is seriously a world class zoo and not to be missed
Explore Little India -- where Mustafa's is, and have a great Indian vegetarian buffet lunch for US$9 at Komala Vilas
Chinatown has gotten very un-Chinese
If you are looking for night places to go to, let me know and I will tell you of some of my favorites.
