The Aston Bali is a wonderful hotel, four and a half to five
stars. Noise isn't a problem and Nusa Dua is SOOOOO much quieter
than Kuta. You will hear those cursed jet skis if you are
walking on the beach, but they are held to certain areas,
and the swim areas in the ocean are cordoned off for safety.
There are few hawkers on the beach, and even they leave you
alone once they realize you aren't interested. Unless you
are independently wealthy, you may want to take your meals
outside of the hotel. We went out the front gates, turned
left, and walked for a minute to the Jukung, on the opposite
side of the road. They are a great bunch of guys, and you
will enjoy the food. The staff at the Aston are incredible.
The rooms are very nice, especially those fabulous marble
bathrooms. It is an excellent hotel, and I highly reccomend
it. Oh yes, and if you want a great massage, go out the
front of the hotel on the beach, turn left, walk about
eight minutes, until you come to a multicoloured fence around a
playground. Just past that, under the trees, is a group of nine
massage ladies. They are really good. Say hi from Lynne and Tom.
