I took some old jeans with me to give away immediately after my arrival. I was gonna throw them away anyway, and now somebody is happy having them.
Further I took lots and lots of boxes with coloured 'crayons' (I don't know the English word) for the children. I would always have 4 of the boxes in my moneybelt and whenever I saw a little child that was not trying to sell me something I would give it a box of crayons. The smile I got in return was worth 100 of those boxes. I've been giving the last ones away at the airport to little children travelling with their parents and it was so great, there was 1 child that was to shy to take the box, so I put it on the chair next to me, and the child actually managed to use a half an hour to approach the chair next to me before taking the box. It was so great and sweet to see, everybody at the gate was watching the child. And I have so many pictures now of those smiling children.
Bring whatever you want that could make a child happy and just watch out for those children that will really appreciate what you give them and you'll have so much more fun of what you give them.
