Hi Jacqui, I just got back from 6 wonderful weeks in Bali and Maluku. Most of the information you are looking for is available in either Lonely Planet (Indonesia or Bali) and Spice Islands (for Maluku). The flights to Maluku (Ambon) have just increased in price. I went the end of August from Denpasar to Ambon for Rp 855.000. By the end of September the return flight was 1.163.500.
What part of Maluku are you going to visit? Both Bali and Maluku are great places. I know you'll enjoy them both (they are really different from each other). Have a great time. Douglas
