Whilst you've obviously been keeping up with the news, some of your geography needs a tiny brush up.
The "Ninja killings" have been in east Java, reasonably close as the crow flies but a world away from Bali in almost every other way. Not a concern.
The "famine" refers to the rising price of food, not a lack of food per se. In recent weeks the prices wil have started to fall as the Rupiah has gained significantly against the US$. The down side for you is that everything you buy will be about 25% more expensive today than it was 3 weeks ago, let alone 3 months ago. In an overall sense Bali is more prosperous than most other parts of Indonesia, particularly where that prosperity is directly related to an inflow of foreign money.
La Nina has me beat?? El Nino perhaps?? If so, not a concern either. It may have contributed to a lack of rainfall in some part of South East Asia but its impact is falling as sea temperatures in the Pacific go closer to "normal". It is doubtful if it had an impact on Bali anyway.
Bali is still Bali with all that entails.
CASE!
