Do know that it is easy to diagnose malaria via a simple blood test and almost as easy to arrest if you've picked it up. Some in the medical field advise doing this rather than taking a long course of precautionary medicine, a medicine that can cause fairly severe side effects in some folks.
Generally(CDC advise) Bali is not considered a high risk area for malaria altho Lombok may be at a bit higher risk. It is always your call as a patient-consumer as to what meds you wish to take. If you feel more comfortable being on antimalarials your Dr/clinic should provide you with them.Bottom line is that you call the shots(no pun intended!)
