Both of them are brilliant.
Forget snorkelling off lovina, waste of time.
The ship wreck of amed is great and brilliant fish (huge ones) and there are some nice cheap places to stay within two kilometers
However my choice is Menjanan, (I have been their 11 times and amed 5) on the basis that it is a very small island that you get a prahu (small outrigger boat) from the national park out to this tiny island. You pull up through a cut out (not nice but neccessary) of the coral. The whole south western side of the island is surrounded by coral that extends off the beach for about 30 yards.
After you have managed to walk across that you Flop down into the water and the.............BEHOLD !!!!...the most magnificent drop of/Wall of the most spectacular colours you could ever wish to see.
I am an aussie and the Great Barrier Reef is one of the seven wonders of the world...however this little section of Menjanan should be the eighth
A must see! and there is a real cheap place about ten minutes towards Seririt on the left, so I hope you can find it
All the best

Paul
