The cost of going out with a local fisherman for approx 2 hrs should be about 60 000 rp. I was there in august.
Chances are pretty good that you will see dolphins and catching some makrill. I guess your husband can bring his own fishinggear if he wants to, I know they also catch tuna out there. They can also take you barracuda fishing if you ask them.

If you are a sailor, don't forget to ask to sail the boat. It's a great experience sailing these boats out in the big wawes.

You can also get a fisherman take you to Gili or Lombok from Lipah. Start early in the morning, 05:00. The trip takes approx 4 hrs depending on winds. The trip is safe, they bring double enginees, but if you're lucky with the winds you'll be sailing all the way to Gili. It's a wonderfull feeling beeing out in that small fishingboat in the middle of the sea. You can stay a couple of days at Gili (no malaria there!) in some cheap bungalow. There is also a hotel, US$35-50/night, airconditioned.

Beaches are long and white, lot's of divers, no cars but snorkeling is better in Ahmed.

You walk around the biggest of the Gili Islands in 2 hrs.

You can also go back the same day at about 14:00, then you'll be back in Lipah at 18:00, just before the sun sets. It's no problem if it gets dark on the way back. Bali is clearly visible in the night and the fishermans knows the way back.

Expect to pay 500 000 to 800 000 rp for a 2-way trip to Gili.
It's worth the cost if you wont to do something different.

If you go for this trip don't forget sunscreen, sunhat, sunglasses, T-shirt, raincoat (It gets chilly when the wawes brakes over the boat before the sun raises,) and some cash.
Don't drink to much water in the boat, there is no toilett and it can be tricky doing what you need, specially for women. Drink just before you arrive to Gili and at Gili, stop drinking some hour before you go back. This will save you a possible painful experience.

Go for it!!
