Things I don't like about Bali.

SOME of the hawkers can be a pain but this is more often caused by people who do things like asking how much something is - thereby opening the bargaining process - and then attempting to walk away not realising what they've done. They then get followed and "harassed". That is just lack of experience.

VERY few of the hawkers are a genuine problem in my experience.

After a while I find the heat/humidity gets to me - especially in the market shops - but that is just a personal thing.

21% tax on things is a drag when you think you know how much things cost.

Constant tooting of horns until you get used to it.

Dust in Kuta.

Narrow roads and footpaths.

Too warm swimming pools and ocean - picky ain't I??

Airport porters, until this last trip when they took our bags right through and onto the x-ray machines. Now I love them.

The cost of shipping furniture back to Oz. I'd rather pay more to the Balinese who make it and less to international shipping companies.

The fact that there is only one Poppies. Same for Kori now as well.

Nusa Dua

Frozen lobster at Jimbaran seafood markets - it was all we saw last week. Everything else seemed to be fresh though.

Airconditioning that "rains" on the floor.

Surly taxi drivers. Not many of these - certainly less than at home.

Bali beaches. Spoilt by those at home.

Tourists that are just too cool for words.

Drunken and/or rude tourists. Seen a lot less of this in recent years although one particular Australian bloke excelled himself at the Dynasty last week. I would dearly like to have bopped him on the nose.

Having difficulty finding size 43 shoes (only about 8 1/2), especially when I see the price. VERY frustrating.

The creeping (although still small) incidence of crime.

Last but not least, the thing I really hate about Bali is that it costs too much to get there and I can only make it every 18 months or so.

CASE!
