I normally rent a Suzuki from Jaya Mertha in Padma St Legian. I think the model in Bali is the "Jimmy". It looks like a small 4WD but is only a 2WD. You can get vehicles on almost any street in Bali. They cost around $Aust25 per day without comprehensive insurance. Check the steering on the vehicle first, for some reason (possibly the wide tyres they all seem to have) the steering gets sloppy early in the peace. Some of the roads are not very wide and decent steering is essential. Petrol is around 700Rp per litre, so you should get 14 litres for 10,000Rp. It is common to only get 10 litres for 10,000Rp. Just watch that. The bowsers have litre gauges but no cost gauge.
